Antifragile is a peer-driven, mental-health centric movement focused on building community, connection and empowerment.Through art we provide a safe space to express ourselves, our experiences, challenge biases, and discuss mental health stereotypes, using our unique peer driven peer support approach to empower you to take control of your story.By prioritising your experience of your neurodivergence, we work to provide accessible, inclusive spaces for community wide conversations in yearly exhibitions. Enriching the public knowledge of the realities of lives shaped by complex, long term mental illness by using our art as the communication method.
Through knowledge, empathy and passion, the greatest of positive change is possible.
Antifragile works to achieve this through leading by example in promoting neurodiverse accessibility in all avenues of life- By inverting mainstream neurotypical power structures, prioritising respecting people's capacity by adjusting typical expectations, and supporting our community to contribute in ways that let their brilliance shine.Due to the nature of our peer driven focus, we're always aiming to improve our inclusivity and accessibility for anyone living with mental health challenges.If you would like to help us build a world where people living with mental health related disabilities can be accepted, succeed and prosper; Please attend an Antifragile workshop, check out our socials or contact us.

Until generative AI becomes sustainable, and is made with consent, credit, and compensation, we will continue practicing a 0 tolerance policy for AI "artworks".Art is and has always been accessible.

"Anti" : Opposed to, Against
"Fragile" : Easy to destroy, break, or threaten."Antifragile" : Systems that not only withstand stressors, but improve and grow stronger because of them.Mental illness is the process of withstanding stressors again and again, we have no choice but to become stronger and grow –
We Are Antifragile.
It is the core of Antifragile to create space where people living with mental health related disabilities can be accepted, succeed, and prosper. To advocate for egalitarian inclusion in all things mental health.

What to bring?
Yourself!! We supply a "starter kit" (sketchbook, graphite pencils, and erasers). Plus we have a bunch of art supplies to try out while you're here.You're welcome to bring whatever art supplies you feel like working with or any support aids you find useful, whether it's a physical aid, sensory aid, or the like! We also have a handful of fidgets to choose from.

What to expect?
Your community of people who live through similar internal battles as you.Near the start of each session, we do a quick (~5 minute) mindfulness "wiggle" to de-escalate, starting with breathing and working through stretches. Then we get to creating!We have themed projects each term that will tie into the annual exhibition. These are discussed and decided by the whole group. We work through a meditative drawing together process that opens conversation and supports the expression of the complex symptoms and emotions associated with living with long term mental health related disabilities.Occasionally we have experimenting days where we try out new materials and mediums, share techniques and basically have the best free play ever! You can work on... well, whatever you feel like! The focus is on the themes for the exhibition, but if you just want to hang out and create that’s perfectly ok!There are a lot of emotions and "vibes" that can fill the room at any stage. It's common for topics based around our personal experiences to come up, and we recognise this may be triggering for some people. Feel free to create space for yourself and/ or ask for emotional support, if need be. All that we ask is nothing that's said gets shared outside our room.Note: Before the end of your first session, there will be a participation form for you to fill out when you're able, containing questions such as your name and pronouns, how best to contact you, and how we can support you.• Antifragile is NOT therapy. Antifragile is NOT a service.
• Antifragile Is Community.
• It is the responsibility of everyone to support each other the best they can by respecting boundaries, sharing strategies and experiences gained through individual lived experience.
